Set on the northeast coast of Kos island, the capital Kos Town wears its history well. The Romans, Ottomans and Italians have all left their stamp here in the architecture and ruins, while a 15th-century castle plays up to the resort’s Medieval roots. There’s plenty of room for modern Greece, too, as you’ll see in the lively bars and harbour-side restaurants. There’s a beach in the centre of town, too.
Close to Kos Town, the huge Blue Lagoon Resort offers a great choice of pools and dining options, along with easy access to the beach.
There are four pools, plus two for children. The main one’s a huge lagoon affair that comes with whirlpool baths and water jets. And if you’re after peace and quiet, there’s a triangular pool that’s adults-only.The pièce de résistance of the pool scene is the mini waterpark, which has a water bucket and a lazy river. There are thrill rides for adults, and gentle ones for children. There’s also a poolside restaurant.
The Nisos buffet is the go-to spot for meals – its theme nights mean you can tuck in to food from across the globe. You've got four other options for dinner, including an alternative buffet, plus a Chinese restaurant and an Italian eatery with an adults-only section. If you’re peckish during the day, try the freshly-made crêpes at the poolside cooking stations. There’s also a pool restaurant with a pizza bar.
An entertainment tent hosts Vegas-style shows, ABBA tributes and karaoke sessions. There’s sometimes the odd fire show, too. During the day, little ones are kept entertained at the TUI KIDS' CLUB.For a more chilled-out evening, there’s a piano bar with live music every night and the lobby bar’s a relaxing place for a drink.
