To help us support older people who are lonely, isolated, frail, ill, homeless, living in poverty, or are facing other difficulties. We are asking those who join us on this self-funded trip to fundraise €1500 that will go directly to providing supports to the older people we work with.
For hundreds of years pilgrims from across the globe have walked the Camino De Santiago from the various trails across Europe. The Camino, for many, is a journey of self discovery which will leave its travellers with memories to last a lifetime. The Camino de Santiago, or The Way of Saint James, is a series of ancient walking routes, which culminate at the Santiago de Compostela, home to one of the most beautiful cathedrals ever built. Many walk the Camino as a religious pilgrimage but many also embark on this journey for spiritual reasons and to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life.
The Portuguese Way takes you through the region of Galicia in Northern Spain to Santiago for a unique experience you’ll treasure forever. The central Camino Portuguese route is relatively flat and easy to navigate and it is a great alternative to the French Camino. Spend one unforgettable week walking through stunning Galician countryside and villages and exploring fascinating historical towns and cities.
Walk the Portuguese Camino Way from Tui to Santiago over 5 Days and then relax and explore the beauty of Santiago for the final 2 days.

Upon reaching Padrón you have the opportunity to visit this beautiful city, very important in the Camino de Santiago. According to legend, the stone boat carrying the body of St.James arrived at the port of Padrón and from there the remains were transferred by his disciples to its present location, Santiago de Compostela.
Today this region is also well known for the Padrón peppers which grow from May to October. They are small peppers fried in olive oil and the interesting thing about them is that some are spicy and some others not.
