BOOKING CONDITIONS

Terms of Business: Navan Travel Ltd

Trading as: Travalue, Uwalk.ie, and Santaholidays.ie

Our Role as an Agent

Navan Travel Ltd acts as an intermediary (agent) between you and various third-party Travel Service Providers (such as airlines, hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators).

Agency Status: Unless otherwise stated, we act as an agent for the supplier. Your contract for the travel service is directly with the Travel Service Provider, and their specific Terms & Conditions will apply to your booking.

Remuneration: We generally receive a commission from these providers.

Service Fees: In specific cases where we act as your agent to source bespoke arrangements, a non-refundable service/administration fee will be applied to process your booking.

Your Responsibility By proceeding, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. References to 'You' include the lead name on the booking and all persons traveling on whose behalf you are authorized to act.

 

Data Protection & Privacy

We collect and process your personal data (and that of your travel party) solely for the purpose of processing your booking and fulfilling our legal obligations under Irish and EU law. To enable your travel, we must share relevant details—such as names, passport data, and special requirements—with third-party Travel Service Providers (airlines, hotels, etc.). We do not sell your data. By booking with us, you consent to this transfer of information. Deposits & Payments Unless otherwise specified, all deposits are non-refundable. You will be required to pay either a deposit or the full balance at the time of booking, depending on the supplier's requirements.

Where a deposit is paid, the remaining balance must be settled in full at least 12 weeks prior to departure. Please note that if payment is not received by this date, we are obliged to notify the Travel Service Provider. They may then cancel your booking and apply the cancellation fees outlined in their specific terms and conditions.

 

General Cancellations & Amendments

Due to the nature of modern airfare structures, most flights require full payment at the time of booking and are strictly non-refundable.

If you wish to change or cancel any part of your booking, you must notify us in writing. Please be aware of the following:

  • Supplier Charges: Many providers (including tour operators, cruise lines, and hotels) apply cancellation fees of up to 100% of the cost, particularly within 10 weeks of departure.
  • Service Fees: In addition to any fees charged by the Travel Service Provider, Navan Travel Ltd applies a non-refundable service charge for processing any cancellation or amendment.
  • Effective Date: Cancellations or amendments are only deemed effective from the date we receive your written notification.

Because of these stringent supplier policies, we reiterate the absolute importance of having adequate travel insurance in place from the date of booking.

 

Financial Protection & Licensing

Navan Travel Ltd is fully licensed and bonded by the Irish Aviation Authority (License No. TA 0202). This bond provides financial protection for your booking in the unlikely event of our insolvency.

Important Note on Vouchers: Please be aware that travel vouchers which have not yet been redeemed against a specific travel contract are generally not covered by our government bond. For your added protection, we recommend that you purchase vouchers using a credit card, as this may provide you with additional consumer protection under your card provider's terms.

 

Travel Insurance: Your Responsibility

We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. It is your personal responsibility to ensure your policy covers cancellation, medical expenses, emergency repatriation, and specific activities relevant to your trip (such as walking tours or winter excursions). Navan Travel Ltd is not liable for any financial loss you incur due to your failure to purchase adequate insurance. Please note that if you choose to travel without insurance, or with insufficient cover, you will be personally responsible for any costs or losses that arise.

  • EHIC: If traveling within the EEA, you can obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) at www.ehic.ie.

Please Note: While the EHIC is very useful for medical assistance in EU countries, it is not a substitute for travel insurance. We continue to strongly recommend that comprehensive travel insurance is in place from the moment your booking is confirmed.

 

Identity of Carriers (Flight Information)

Under EU Regulation (EC) No. 2111/2005, we are required to inform you of the identity of the airline(s) operating your flight. If the specific carrier is not known at the time of booking, we will notify you as soon as it is confirmed. Any subsequent changes to the operating carrier will be communicated to you immediately.

Please be aware of the 'EU Air Safety List' (formerly the 'Community Blacklist'), which identifies airlines banned from operating within the EU for safety reasons. You can inspect this list at any time via the European Commission website: http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/list_en.htm

 

Passports, Visas, & Health Requirements

It is your sole responsibility to ensure that you meet all passport, visa, and health requirements for your destination.

To help you prepare for your trip, we are happy to provide general information regarding passport, visa, and health requirements upon request. However, as these regulations can change frequently, the final responsibility for ensuring you meet all immigration and health criteria rests with you. We recommend confirming your specific requirements with the relevant Embassies or Consulates, as we cannot accept responsibility if you are unable to travel due to non-compliance with these rules.

Key Requirements to Remember:

  • Passport Validity: Many countries now require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. Please check your expiry dates early.
  • Health & Vaccinations: We advise consulting your doctor for professional health advice and any necessary vaccinations specific to your destination.
  • ECHI: If traveling within the EEA, you can obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) at www.ehic.ie.

Cancellation & Amendements for Camino bookings with Uwalk.ie:

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel your holiday, you must notify us in writing. The following cancellation charges apply:

  • More than 60 days before travel – Loss of deposit
  • 60 to 30 days before travel – 50% of total cost
  • 30 to 15 days before travel – 75% of total cost
  • Within 14 days of travel – 100% of total cost (No refund)
  • Cancellation charges apply to all members of your booking. If a member of a twin/double room cancels, the remaining traveler may be subject to a single room supplement.

Name & Booking Changes

Name & booking changes are subject to supplier approval and the following fees:

  • Up to 30 days before travel – €50 per person
  • 30 to 8 days before travel – €100 per person
  • Within 7 days of travel – No changes permitted
  • Some suppliers (e.g., airlines or hotels) may have their own name change policies and fees, which will be added to your booking. When a booking is transferred, both the original and new traveler are jointly and severally liable for any outstanding payments.
