Day 1: Arrival in Porto (Embarkation) Direct flight from Dublin to Porto, where you will be transferred to your 5-star river cruise ship. Meet your Riviera Cruise Director, settle into your cabin, and enjoy a welcome dinner.

Day 2: Porto to Pinhão & Quinta Wine Tasting:Enjoy a morning sailing through the scenic Douro Valley as terraced vineyards pass by. In the afternoon, visit a historic local quinta to learn about vine planting, harvesting, and port production, concluding with an exclusive wine tasting. Moored overnight in Pinhão.

Day 3: Castelo Rodrigo: Cruise deeper into rural territory towards the Spanish border. In the afternoon, visit the 12th-century walled hillside village of Castelo Rodrigo, featuring sweeping borderland views and ancient pilgrim pathways. In the evening, watch a celebratory vintage port opened in the traditional way on board.

Day 4: Salamanca (Spain) or Almeida: Cross into Spain for a full-day excursion to the magnificent golden city of Salamanca. Explore its ancient university, stunning cathedrals, and the grand Plaza Mayor, complemented by a tapas lunch and a flamenco show. (Alternative option: Visit the historic fortified Portuguese border town of Almeida).

Day 5: Mateus Palace & Peso da Régua: Sail downstream to visit the exquisite 18th-century Baroque Mateus Palace and its famous landscaped French gardens (or explore the Douro Museum in Régua). In the evening, enjoy dinner at the renowned Quinta da Pacheca accompanied by local estate wines.

Day 6: Lamego: Drive to the nearby town of Lamego to visit the breathtaking Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, featuring its famous tiered staircase adorned with blue-and-white tiles. Return to the ship for lunch, followed by an evening Chef’s Dinner and optional traditional Portuguese folk music.

Day 7: Porto Sightseeing & Port Cellars: Return to Porto for a guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Ribeira district, São Bento station's tile panels, and Porto Cathedral. Cross the iconic Luís I Bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia for a guided tour and tasting at a professional port wine producer.

Day 8: Disembarkation & Return Flight to Dublin: Enjoy a final breakfast on board before disembarking your ship for your transfer to the airport and direct return flight to Dublin.
