Itinerary / Flight Details

Day 1: Dublin to Germany (Embarkation) Direct flight from Dublin to Germany, where you will be transferred to your 5-star river cruise ship. Meet your Riviera Cruise Director, settle into your cabin, and enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner.

Day 2: Koblenz & The Rhine ValleyEnjoy a morning sailing past the forested Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains) and the historic ruined bridge at Remagen. Arrive in Koblenz for a guided walking tour of the Old Town (Altstadt) where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. Conclude the evening with a live performance of Rhenish folk music on board.

Day 3: The Romantic Rhine Gorge & Rüdesheim Cruise through the spectacular, castle-strewn Rhine Gorge (a UNESCO World Heritage site). Arrive in Rüdesheim to explore its charming wine taverns, medieval architecture, and the quirky mechanical music museum.

Day 4: Speyer & Heidelberg Visit the historic imperial city of Speyer, home to one of Germany's finest Romanesque cathedrals. Alternatively, take an excursion to nearby Heidelberg to view its famous romantic castle ruins and old bridge.

Day 5: Strasbourg (France) Cross into France and dock near Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace. Enjoy a guided tour featuring the magnificent Gothic Notre-Dame Cathedral and the picturesque "La Petite France" quarter with its half-timbered houses and canals.

Day 6: The Black Forest & Breisach Sail southward to the edge of Germany's Black Forest. Take an excursion into this legendary region of dense pine forests, scenic valleys, and cuckoo clock traditions, exploring local artisan towns before returning to the ship in Breisach.

Day 7: Switzerland & The Bernese Oberland / Basel Disembark in Basel and journey into the breathtaking Swiss Alps. Experience stunning alpine vistas, crystal-clear lakes, and towering mountain peaks in the Bernese Oberland region (with options for scenic mountain rail excursions), before returning for a celebratory Captain’s Dinner.

Day 8: Disembarkation & Return Flight to Dublin Enjoy a final breakfast on board before disembarking your ship for your transfer to the airport and direct return flight to Dublin.
