Follow in the footsteps of medieval pilgrims, walking the third stage of the French Way. Starting from the medieval city of Burgos, with its impressive Gothic cathedral, this section takes you across the vast wide-open spaces of the Meseta, dotted with picturesque sleepy villages and Romanesque churches.  Pilgrims journey to their destination of Calzadilla, a small town with only 60 inhabitants that passes through the River Cueza. One of the main attractions of this village is that ruins of a Roman settlement, ‘the Monastery of Santa Maria de las Tiendas’ still remains.
