Royal Caribbean - Harmony of the Seas

First Impressions

We headed off on the early morning flight which had us at Barcelona airport by 10am.  We took the Royal Caribbean transfer which was right outside the terminal building and took only 20 minutes to arrive at the port. We already had our set sail pass so just a quick snap of us by one of the many Royal Caribbean staff, through security and straight onto the largest ship in the world!  WOW!

From the moment we entered the ship until we left two days later we were amazed by the sheer enormity of the ship.  There are 17 decks on board and we headed straight to Deck 8 to ‘Central Park’.  A total haven among such a busy ship, there are plenty of relaxing seating areas and places to sit and have a drink and watch the world go by! Our world for the weekend!

Cabins

By 1pm we had access to our cabin.  We had an ocean stateroom with balcony which holds up to 4 people.  The cabins are small and compact but work really well.  We had a chance to look around other cabins, from inside cabins that hold 2 people right up to the presidential family suite which holds up to 14 people!

Entertainment

After such an early start we headed to the pool in the afternoon to sample some beer and cocktails!  There was a great atmosphere around  the pool with a live band performing for several hours.  Beach towels are always provided.

This evening we were invited by Royal Caribbean as guests to the Sabor speciality restaurant.  We had a wonderful meal and great entertainment by our Royal Caribbean representatives!  We then headed to see the first ever performance of ‘Grease’ the Musical onboard Harmony and it didn’t disappoint, it was amazing!

Food Glorious, Food!

The next morning we headed to the Windjammer for our buffet style breakfast.  There are any amount of different cuisines on offer for breakfast, from continental to hot dishes.

Activities

We took a couple of hours out after breakfast to walk around each of the decks and we were again surprised to see so much more than we had seen the day before.  Children are so well catered for from the age of 6 months to 17 years.  Kids clubs run right throughout the day so nobody could say they are ‘bored’!

There are so many activities on board.  For the afternoon we went from one to the other.  We rode the waves on the flow rider, got a hole in one in mini golf, zipped down the zip line, climbed the rock wall and slid down the largest dry slide on a cruise ship ‘The Abyss!’

42 hours on Royal Caribbean's 'Harmony of the Seas'

On our 2nd evening we dined in the lovely ‘Silk’ restaurant.  This is one of the main dining areas and you have a good choice on the menu here.  Our entertainment for the evening was a comedy show and a fantastic ice skating show.  If that wasn’t enough entertainment for one evening we headed out to the Aquatheater to enjoy a production of synchronised swimming and high diving.

Although we had only two nights onboard Harmony of the Sea’s we packed in so much that we had an amazing and truly unforgettable experience.

This cruise ship caters for all ages with so many activities to suit families, young people looking for an active holiday and those looking for something special!  WOW!
