5* Experience in Dubai

5* Experience in Dubai

Monday 09 October 2017

I was lucky to visit Dubai in September where I spent an amazing 4 nights filled with once in a lifetime experiences.

Turkish Delight

I flew with Turkish Airlines with a stopover in Istanbul which cut my journey into two flights of approx. 4 hours each. Meals and complimentary drinks were offered on both flights and a stop in Istanbul was really what I needed to stretch my legs and freshen up rather than having one long flight. Staff on board where great, there was a brilliant choice of movies and we even got a fly kit with earplugs, eye mask and socks. How could you not love it?

We arrived to Dubai at around 1 am. And it was shocking hot! You’d think you’ll get some fresh air outside, but well, the only thing I got was a feeling as if there was a fan blowing to my face. The heat wasn’t that bad after few days, or perhaps I just got used to it. But next time I visit I would definitely choose a little bit later in the year around November – March.

Far from Versace I was reared!

I spent my first two nights in 5* Palazzo Versace Dubai Hotel which was out of this world! Even though we arrived late at night I was so overwhelmed by the hotel I couldn’t go to sleep. There was luxury in every detail. I was playing with the touch screen control panel opening and closing curtains multiple times, playing with the lights and so on. Hopefully no one saw me. I was even more amazed when we had a tour of the hotel. Every single piece of furniture and fabric is designed and tailor-made by Versace exclusively for this hotel. This would be a perfect hotel for weddings and honeymoons.

Next day we had a city tour. We’ve started with Dubai Museum, a great way to learn a bit about the history of the area and a nice presentation of how people lived in the desert before the oil was found. Dubai Gold and Spice souks are a must where you could spend hours wandering around. It’s a perfect place for little gifts and souvenirs. We ended the night with a beautiful traditional Dhow cruise and a lovely dinner on board.

Next morning, as heartbreaking as it was to leave the Palazzo Versace hotel, we arrived to another beautiful 5* Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay which was our home for the rest of the stay. It’s located in a perfect location in Downtown Dubai within just a 10 min walk of The Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Even though we didn’t had much free time I still got to enjoy the infinity pool and a pool bar on the 3rd floor of the hotel revealing amazing views!

Desert Safari Highlight

I couldn’t recommend the Desert Safari and Sunset Barbecue tour enough. It was the absolute highlight of my trip with a thrilling race across huge sand dunes. With lots of laughter and fear at the same time we got on the highest point of the Arabian Desert where we enjoyed the most amazing views. Such a great experience followed by beautiful dinner under the stars, great company and delicious BBQ.

Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, is another must when visiting Dubai. It’ll take you to the 124th floor to enjoy amazing views of city, desert and ocean. You could really feel it sway when looking down and all those high towers looked so tiny. Now I can really say I was at the top of the World! Advance booking is strongly recommended as it is one of most visited sites in Dubai and you can get a much cheaper price booking in advance.

As huge as Dubai is, it is pretty easy to get around. Taxis are very cheap and because of the multi lane highways it won’t take very long too. The Metro with only two lines is very easy to use and it’ll bring you to the main Dubai attractions.

Selfie Heaven

And of course, the trip to Dubai wouldn’t be complete without few selfies in front of the white sand of Jumeirah Beach and the iconic Burj Al Arab.

I was so lucky to experience all the top attractions Dubai has to offer and had fantastic few days that I won’t forget. As someone just said: things end, but memories last forever!
